Clinical-Epidemiological Characterization of Human anal Papilloma Virus Infection Coloproctology Unit. Central University Hospital Dr. “Antonio Maria Pineda”

Abstract Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is one of the most common sexually transmitted viral diseases. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with purpose clinically and epidemiologically characterizing anal HPV in patients who attended Benign Orificial Pathology Consultation Coloproctological Unit at Dr. “Antonio María Pineda” Central University Hospital, during period March 2022 - February 2023, by selecting 288 whose average age 47.09 ± 14.61 years, being 41-50 years old group (29.17%) 51-60 (19.44%) affected groups pathologies region, a predominance male (54.17%). The sociodemographic characteristics highest frequency included married (48.61%) single (47.22%); secondary level education (44.44%) traders (18.05%) housewives (15, 28%) as predominant occupations. risk factors were represented onset sexual intercourse between 16-20 (65.28%), heterosexuality (91.67%), 22.22% reported having sex 5.56% oral sex. Likewise, history genital 4.17% HIV positive. In addition, 48.61% stated not to use condoms. initial clinical diagnosis hemorrhoidal disease (30.55%), fistula (25%) fissure (18.05%), patient (1.39%) infection. Anal cytology results showed 8.33% flat epithelial cells cytopathic changes suggestive 1.39% squamous infection: 50% mild inflammatory negative for malignancy 33.33% without atypia. conclusion, investigation should continue determine actual
